Lab Equipment Sales Territory Manager - Southeast

Proton OnSite is looking for a sales professional to manage the specialized laboratory market equipment sales territory in the Southeastern Region of the United States. The territory covers Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

About the Position

This individual manages the sales and marketing of onsite hydrogen, nitrogen, and zero air generation products manufactured by Proton OnSite and/or its strategic partners to business and industrial customers in a specific industry segment. This is an individual contributor Sales position which requires strong territory and account management skills. Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Travels, phones and e-mails throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to develop opportunities and solicit orders.

  • Develops and presents sales presentations outlining features and benefits of the onsite gas generators to prospective customers and channel partners.

  • Encourages and manages the efforts of channel partner personnel to sell a targeted volume of onsite gas generators in the specific laboratory equipment industry segment during each fiscal year.

  • Manages the sales channel relationships within the specific laboratory equipment industry segment.

  • Trains channel partner personnel to effectively prospect, qualify and sell equipment.

  • Maintains accurate sales development records, and provides contact data, sales projections and expense reporting in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from channel partners, other customers and prospects, newspapers, business directories, and other sources.

  • Achieves sales objectives in assigned markets.

  • Travel up to 80% required.

  • Other duties as required to successfully perform this role.

  • Regular attendance to work is a requirement.


  • Industrial/laboratory equipment sales experience.

  • Experience in the laboratory equipment market is required.

  • Experience selling and marketing onsite gas generators in the laboratory equipment market is strongly desired.

  • Experience managing sales channels in the laboratory equipment market is required.

  • Successful technical sales experience for small to medium sized capital equipment to industrial clients.

  • Proven ability to identify new sources of business.

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales objectives and territory/account development.

  • Experience as the focal point for clients for all sales and related issues.

  • Detail-oriented with strong technical aptitude.

  • Independent worker with a sound mix of business and technical knowledge.

  • Foreign language fluency a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

  • College degree in business, marketing, a technical field, or the equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 4 years’ sales experience.

Communication Skills:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Computer / Mathematical Skills:

  • Must be able to utilize Excel, Salesforce or other CRM, Word and other commonly used business software solutions. 

  •  The computation of onsite gas usage, the development of economic payback and the differentiation between economical and non-economical solutions require college-level math and science skills.
