Manufacturing Engineer

An immediate opportunity exists for a Manufacturing Engineering. The candidate must possess strong technical apptitude and communication skills to support production and drive continuous improvement activities. 

Position Details

About the Position

The ideal candidate will thrive working in and fostering a strong team environment while providing fabrication and assembly technical direction to the Production team. The individual should have mechanical and electrical assembly knowledge with practical manufacturing, assembly and quality experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment

  • Effectively apply Quality Continuous Improvement Tools and Lean Principles

  • Implement safety and cost reductions activities

  • Participate in cross functional project teams and execute individual project tasks

  • Work closely with the Engineering Development and Technology team on the development of new products, process improvements and production quality discrepancies

  • Perform mechanical/electrical testing and gauge R&R studies

  •  Trouble-shoot processes, equipment and develop/implement corrective and preventive actions

  • Create and update production documentation

  • Be the technical expert for the product and processes designs in areas of responsibility

  • Coordinate and manage the production transition of new materials with new and existing suppliers

  •  Translate technical documents into manufacturing operation instructions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Manufacturing Engineering, B.S. Industrial Engineering, B.S. Chemical Engineering, B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • 1 to 5 years working a production environment 

  • Motivated self-starter with a high level of initiative and creative approaches to problem solving 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks

  • Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary team environment 

  • Willingness and ability to learn 

  • Experience with 3D CAD (Pro/E strongly preferred)

  •  Able to travel (<10%) as needed
